Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Face the Nation that funds tied to the COVID-era "Feeding Our Future" fraud have been tracked overseas and that Treasury is tracing flows to the Middle East and Somalia as part of a new probe, and he said some charged individuals donated to Gov. Tim Walz, Rep. Ilhan Omar and AG Keith Ellison. Omar rejected any terror link â saying implicated donations were returned years ago and calling such a connection "a failure of the FBI" â as prosecutors, auditors and GOP lawmakers continue investigating the sprawling roughly $250 million scheme (about $60 million recovered and some 77 indictments to date).
