Minnesota Pandemic Aid Fraud

Homeland Security, alongside ICE, HSI and FBI personnel, launched a 30‑day “massive” operation in the Twin Cities — with DHS saying the surge could include roughly 2,000 rotating federal officers — that officials say has produced more than 1,000 arrests, including people with prior convictions for murder, rape, child sexual abuse and gang‑related crimes. Federal authorities say the deployment is tied to an intensified crackdown on alleged fraud in child‑nutrition, daycare, housing and other social‑services programs (including the Feeding Our Future cases), which investigators estimate involve losses ranging from hundreds of millions to potentially billions of dollars and have prompted dozens of indictments and convictions, a campaign that has heightened political and community tensions in Minnesota.
