Miriam Yarimi, 33, was sentenced to 3 to 9 years in New York state prison after pleading guilty to three counts of reckless manslaughter for running a red light at about 70 mph and killing a mother and two daughters in Brooklyn’s Midwood neighborhood in March 2025. Prosecutors sought 5 to 15 years; Judge Danny Chun imposed the sentence as Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez detailed that Yarimi, driving on a suspended license, failed to brake before striking another car and then the pedestrians.
