A late‑Wednesday fire ripped through the hospital’s Orthopedic Institute/orthopedic wing at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Dickson City, with parts of the older Scranton Orthopedics building collapsing and the unit largely destroyed, prompting the safe evacuation and transfer of 77 patients and resulting in no major injuries. Firefighters contained the blaze around 11:15 p.m., crews worked into early Thursday amid smoke and water damage to the main hospital, and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal is investigating while Gov.
