Police Release Video of Suspect in Killing of Philanthropist at Maryland Senior Home

Montgomery County Police have released surveillance video of a suspect in the Feb. 14 shooting death of 87-year-old millionaire philanthropist and retired Navy Reserve officer Robert Fuller Jr. inside his apartment at the Cogir Potomac Senior Living facility in suburban Washington, D.C. The footage shows an individual with long dark hair and a distinctive gait walking on the property around the time of the homicide, but detectives say they cannot yet determine the person’s race or gender and that the suspect could be male or female. Investigators are asking the public to study the clothing and walk in the video for any recognizable traits and to call the Major Crimes Division or Crime Solvers with tips; information leading to an arrest may qualify for rewards ranging from $250 to $10,000. Fuller, a prominent Augusta, Maine attorney, was known for donating more than $1.6 million to modernize Cony High School’s athletic complex and contributing to multiple local institutions, and his killing in what is marketed as an upscale assisted-living community is already fueling concern online about security for elderly residents in such facilities. Police continue to treat the case as a homicide and have not announced any arrests.
