The Cleveland Clinic describes a CKM syndrome staging system with stages 0â4: Stage 0 indicates no risk factors; Stage 1 indicates excess body fat; Stage 2 indicates presence of conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or kidney disease; Stage 3 indicates subclinical heart disease or high risk of heart disease; and Stage 4 indicates symptomatic heart disease combined with excess body fat and metabolic risk factors, and may include kidney disease.
