Former Wyoming state superintendent of public instruction Jillian Balow has launched a Republican campaign for Wyoming’s at‑large U.S. House seat, which Rep. Harriet Hageman is vacating to run for the Senate after Sen. Cynthia Lummis chose not to seek reelection. In a campaign statement, Balow says she is running to defend Wyoming’s energy economy, protect constitutional freedoms, and support parents and students while ensuring rural voices are heard in Washington. She praises Lummis and Hageman as trailblazers for "Wyoming values" and pledges to continue their "strong, independent" representation. Balow will face at least two GOP primary rivals: Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray and businessman Reid Rasner, who previously lost a 2024 Senate primary to Sen. John Barrasso. The race will determine who holds Wyoming’s single House vote in what is expected to be a safely Republican but ideologically contested primary.
