Newly released court records show a misconduct complaint against retired federal judge Mark Wolf had advanced to a probable‑cause stage before being closed after his retirement. Chief Judge David Barron’s Nov. 24, 2025 order said the limited inquiry — including interviews of Wolf and a former law clerk, written summaries and multiple submissions from Wolf — was ended as "no longer necessary" under 28 U.S.C. § 352(b)(2); Wolf, now senior counsel at Todd & Weld LLP, had earlier written an op‑ed blaming what he called Trump’s "assault on the rule of law" for his resignation.
