Utah’s Supreme Court rejected an appeal to overturn a court‑drawn congressional map that creates a Democratic‑leaning district, and a three‑judge federal district court panel likewise denied Republicans’ request for a preliminary injunction to block its use in the 2026 elections. The federal panel found Republicans unlikely to prevail on their claim that the state judge lacked authority to impose the map and cited the imminent election calendar — including March 9 candidate filing, March 17 caucuses and April 25 conventions — and an active primary as reasons to avoid late changes and preserve election‑administration stability.
