Report: 1.2M visitors to U.S. for World Cup
Tourism Economics projects the 2026 FIFA World Cup will bring about 1.2 million international visitors to 11 U.S. host cities, driving billions in local economic activity alongside hospitality, transportation and retail gains, according to a November analysis. A separate FIFA–WTO report says visitors will stay roughly 12 days, attend two matches on average, and spend more than $400 per day, with the tournament running June 12–July 19 and 78 matches in the U.S. (plus 26 in Mexico and Canada). The firm expects a rebound in international travel to the U.S. in 2026 (+3.7%) after a 6.3% decline in 2025.
