U.S. State Department Advisories

The U.S. State Department has reissued its Level 4 'Do Not Travel' advisory for Russia this week without changes, warning U.S. citizens of high risks from terrorism, wrongful detention and arbitrary enforcement of local laws and urging all Americans in the country to leave immediately. The advisory notes that U.S. consular capacity is severely limited due to reduced embassy staffing and suspended consulate operations, highlights financial constraints caused by sanctions that have largely disabled U.S. cards and money transfers, and cautions travelers that Russian authorities operating under martial law in border regions can impose curfews, detain foreigners and seize property.
