The Pentagon announced it will end all graduate‑level professional military education, fellowships and certificate programs for active‑duty service members at Harvard beginning in the 2026–27 academic year, while current attendees may finish their courses. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Harvard “no longer meets the needs of the War Department,” accusing the school of promoting “woke” and other ideologies in public remarks and a social‑media video, and said the decision is part of a broader review of Ivy League programs amid the administration’s broader dispute with Harvard over funding, research and enrollment.
