McCaul Says Bovino Escalated Minneapolis ICE Tactics and Expects Homan to End Roving Patrols, Warrantless Home Entries

Rep. Michael McCaul said former Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino escalated tensions in Minneapolis by deploying roving patrols and putting agents into crowd‑control roles they weren’t trained for, and he expects new local ICE leader Tom Homan — whom McCaul called a “consummate professional” — to restore targeted operations focused on violent criminal aliens rather than street‑roving. McCaul added that administrative warrants will continue for jail transfers but that using them to break into homes “has not been the practice of ICE” and he does not expect Homan to continue that tactic, and he said the DOJ civil‑rights probe of the Alex Pretti killing, now under FBI control, satisfies his call for a full investigation.
