On a Sunrise Movement call, NEA President Becky Pringle labeled President Donald Trump a "dictator," warned that "dictators always come for educators," and said the union would leverage its roughly 3 million members to "advocate, mobilize, litigate and elect" people aligned against Trump and ICE. Pringle also alleged ICE has assaulted and detained educators and students on school grounds and followed school buses, bringing "fear and trauma" to schools, and Fox News noted the call came amid scrutiny of Sunrise’s ties to Antifa‑linked "Stop Cop City" activists and prior congressional concern about Sunrise’s funding and affiliations as she prepared to speak at a Political Revolution event targeting ICE.
