State Attorneys General vs. Trump Administration

New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez said in a Dec. 31 interview that he and a coalition of Democratic attorneys general met daily for roughly the first 90 days of President Donald Trump’s second term in 2025—and now meet every other day—to coordinate legal challenges aimed at blocking administration actions. Torrez, whose early political rise was supported by a Soros‑funded PAC, says he has led or joined 36 lawsuits against Trump since January 2025, including litigation over National Guard deployments to Washington, D.C., the creation and operations of the Department of Government Efficiency, immigration moves, and a birthright‑citizenship executive order currently blocked in court.
