The House Ethics Committee is weighing sanctions Tuesday for Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick after finding 25 House rules and ethics violations. Investigators say Florida overpaid her family's health care business about $5 million in COVID relief that was then routed to finance her 2022 campaign. The probe spanned two years, issuing 59 subpoenas, conducting 28 witness interviews and reviewing more than 33,000 pages of documents.
