Redwolf Pope, a 49-year-old man who presented himself as a Native American activist and attorney, was sentenced in Washington state court on Jan. 7, 2026 to 46 years in prison for drugging and raping women and secretly filming them in his Seattle apartment. Pope, previously convicted of rape and voyeurism in New Mexico, represented himself at his Washington trial and directly cross-examined one victim for days, prompting survivors and advocates to urge the Washington Legislature to change state law so self-represented defendants cannot personally question their accusers in sexual assault cases.
