Powerful tornadoes ripped through parts of Illinois and Indiana, with a destructive twister in southeastern Illinois destroying at least a dozen buildings and overturning cars. Another strong tornado struck Bloomington, Indiana amid severe thunderstorms that produced wind gusts up to 70 mph, and on‑scene video reporting documented heavy damage to homes and vehicles in the affected communities.
