New York City Councilwoman Nantasha Williams (D-Queens) has introduced a bill to raise council members’ salaries by 16% from $148,500 to $172,500 and boost pay for the mayor, public advocate, comptroller, and borough presidents, according to the report. The measure would lift the mayor’s pay to nearly $300,000 from $258,000, with a hearing planned by year’s end and a Council vote expected in January; the last council pay raise was in 2016.
