Minnesota woman killed in shark attack off St. Croix beach
A 56-year-old Minnesota woman, identified as Arlene Lillis, was killed in a shark attack just before 4:30 p.m. at Dorsch Beach on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands; witnesses reported the shark had a body in its mouth and rescuers said her arm was bitten off and she later died of her injuries. Marine units, fire crews and EMS responded and searchers found no second victim despite earlier reports, and Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. and Lt. Gov. Tregenza A. Roach issued condolences.
