The Pentagon announced on social media that it has opened an investigation into Sen. Mark Kelly, describing “serious allegations of misconduct” tied to his participation in a viral Nov. 18 “Don’t Give Up the Ship” video in which he and other lawmakers urged service members to refuse unlawful orders. The department — via a letter from War Secretary Pete Hegseth asking the Navy for a briefing by Dec. 10, 2025 — cited 18 U.S.C. §2387 and noted Kelly’s retired status places him under DOD jurisdiction, while the FBI and DOJ are coordinating interviews with six other lawmakers involved.
