A bipartisan group in the U.S. House, led by Reps. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), sent a letter to Shein demanding answers by Dec. 20 on whether dolls with a childlike appearance were listed or sold to U.S. customers on its marketplace. Shein said it has imposed “strict sanctions” on involved sellers and implemented a “complete ban” on sex-doll products after French authorities flagged similar listings, while lawmakers called it unacceptable the items were ever allowed on the platform.
