Stefon Diggs addresses media after felony assault charges tied to personal chef dispute
New England Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs has been charged with felony strangulation/suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery stemming from a Dec. 2 dispute with his personal chef in Dedham, Massachusetts; court documents allege the chef was struck in the face and choked with the crook of Diggs’ elbow, causing difficulty breathing. Diggs has "categorically denied" the allegations through the team and his attorneys David Meier and Michael DiStefano — Meier calling the claims unsubstantiated and DiStefano filing to impound the police report — and after briefly calling it a "very emotional time" declined to discuss the open case; his arraignment is set for Jan. 23, 2026, and the Patriots say they are cooperating with authorities while the NFL monitors the matter.
