Jimmy Cliff, the Jamaican reggae pioneer and star of the landmark film “The Harder They Come,” died at 81, his family announced Monday in a statement on his official social media accounts, citing a 'seizure followed by pneumonia' as the cause. Cliff’s songs such as “Many Rivers to Cross,” “You Can Get It If You Really Want,” and “Vietnam,” and his role in the 1972 film helped propel reggae’s global and U.S. popularity.
