Minnesota ICE Raids and Protests

Six former lead Jan. 6 prosecutors have drafted a four‑page memo urging Congress to use the Jan. 6 investigative "playbook" to probe ICE and CBP conduct in the Minneapolis killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, recommending that Congress hire use‑of‑force experts, categorize alleged offenses, solicit public tips and digital evidence (including geofence and social‑media data), and issue preservation requests to tech firms. Their push comes amid large "ICE Out" protests, clergy arrests and National Guard deployments, contested federal and state accounts and videos of Pretti’s shooting, a federal court order to preserve DHS evidence, CBP disclosures that two agents fired and possible chain‑of‑custody lapses, and congressional demands for DOJ records amid criticism that DOJ has not opened civil‑rights probes.
