Amid Mark Zuckerberg’s upcoming testimony in a landmark social‑media addiction trial, Meta said Instagram will begin notifying parents enrolled in its parental‑supervision program if their teens “repeatedly” search suicide- or self‑harm‑related terms, sending alerts by email, text/WhatsApp and in‑app notifications; Meta says such content is already blocked from teen search results and that users are redirected to crisis helplines. The company also said it is developing similar parent alerts for instances when teens try to discuss suicide or self‑harm with its AI tools, with more details to come.
