Prosecutors in Suffolk County, Massachusetts say 34‑year‑old Dingrui Wang of Newton has been indicted on a slate of felony charges for allegedly impersonating a doctor and performing a double‑eyelid blepharoplasty on a 22‑year‑old woman in Allston in January 2020, leaving the victim with permanent scarring. District Attorney Kevin Hayden’s office alleges Wang had no Massachusetts medical license but presented herself as a physician, injected local anesthetic and non‑FDA‑approved dermal fillers into the woman’s eyelids, and pushed her back onto the table when she tried to leave mid‑procedure because of extreme pain. Beyond the alleged assault and kidnapping, prosecutors say Wang falsely claimed to hold aesthetics and salon licenses on a loan application and received payment for the surgery based on misrepresenting herself as a doctor. A Suffolk grand jury returned charges including multiple counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, larceny by false pretenses, unauthorized practice of medicine and improper use of the physician title; arraignment is set for Feb. 5. The case highlights the risks of unlicensed cosmetic surgery and comes as regulators nationwide warn consumers about underground aesthetic procedures marketed on social media and performed outside traditional medical settings.
