The Department of Homeland Security has denied and lashed out at a New York Times report that claimed ICE was targeting Minneapolis hospitals and prompting pregnant women to “hide from ICE.” Separately, NPR reports that immigration courts abruptly advanced hearings for dozens of Somali asylum cases in Minnesota, Illinois and Nebraska—moves lawyers say appear targeted and are occurring amid the Operation Metro Surge enforcement climate and ongoing DHS funding negotiations that could constrain ICE and Border Patrol.
