A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer fired his gun during a road‑rage incident on a freeway near the JFK Airport entrance shortly before 5 a.m., the Port Authority said. It’s unclear whether the officer was in an official vehicle or if any rounds struck the other driver, who fled; the officer was uninjured, no arrests have been made, his name has not been released, and traffic delays eased later in the morning.
