Iowa Gubernatorial Race

Rep. Randy Feenstra, R-Iowa, reported raising $4.3 million over seven months in 2025 for his 2026 gubernatorial campaign, which his team says is a record off‑year total for an Iowa Republican. Feenstra, a House member since 2020 and a Trump-aligned frontrunner to succeed retiring GOP Gov. Kim Reynolds, drew roughly 2,000 individual contributions and pitches his bid as an effort to advance the former president’s agenda in a state that will again host the first 2028 Republican presidential caucuses. Nonpartisan handicappers currently rate the open-seat race as leaning or likely Republican, with Democratic Auditor Rob Sand seen as his party’s leading contender.
