Interest Rates and Inflation

Average U.S. 30-year fixed mortgage rates fell to 6.15% this week, down from 6.18% and the lowest reading in 2025 (the last lower level was 6.12% on Oct. 3, 2024). The 15-year rate dropped to 5.44% while the 10‑year Treasury yield sat near 4.14%, and higher listings and slower sales—prompting some sellers to cut asking prices—are influencing the market even as economists expect 30‑year rates to stay slightly above 6% next year.
