Immigration Enforcement Backlash

Forty‑three‑year‑old Sarah Elizabeth George of Boise was arrested and federally charged after investigators say she stole an ambulance from St. Luke’s Meridian and drove it into the North Portico of a building housing DHS offices around 11:10 p.m., allegedly pouring accelerant from gasoline cans purchased earlier (surveillance shows two red cans and lighter fluid and a blue Dodge Dakota tied to the suspect) before fleeing; she faces federal counts of malicious destruction of government property by fire and of property used in or affecting interstate commerce (each carrying 5–20 years), and Meridian PD is leading a joint probe with the FBI, ATF, DHS and state partners. Separately, FBI Phoenix and Surprise Police — with ATF assistance — are investigating criminal damage and “minor and limited” fire activity after a broken window at an ICE warehouse in Surprise, Arizona, with no suspects yet identified as authorities assess whether the incidents are related.
