Hong Kong National Security Crackdown

Hong Kong sentenced the father of U.S.-based activist Anna Kwok to eight months under the city’s Article 23 national security law, a move the U.S. condemned as "collective punishment." Kwok said the jailing has made her more determined and strategic in her activism, called the case an attempt to weaponize guilt against her, and did an on‑camera interview to show family and friends in Hong Kong that she is "doing okay."
