Hochman announced that Nick Reiner has been charged with two counts of first‑degree murder with special‑circumstance allegations (multiple murders) and a special allegation he personally used a knife in the fatal stabbings of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, charges that carry penalties up to life without parole or the death penalty. Reiner was arrested Dec. 14 near Exposition Park after authorities found the couple dead from multiple stab wounds at their Brentwood home; he is being held without bond while undergoing medical clearance for arraignment.
