Authorities say 22‑year‑old Ivan Miller of Blakesburg, Iowa, was arrested in Colorado after being tracked by license‑plate readers in a victim’s 2022 white Subaru Outback and is accused of killing three women in and around Torrey, Utah — two found on a hiking trail and a third inside a residence, victims whose ages ranged from their 30s to 80s. Miller had been arrested in Iowa about two months earlier on a cabin‑burglary charge but was released without bail in January after promising to appear; he missed a subsequent Iowa arraignment because he was jailed in Colorado, and investigators say he told them the killings were a “crime of convenience” to steal cars and credit cards to get back to Iowa.
