The FAA/DOT announced one‑time $10,000 bonuses for a limited group of air traffic controllers and technicians deemed to have perfect attendance during the 43‑day government shutdown, with the department saying payments should arrive by Dec. 9. NATCA says just 311 of its 10,000+ controllers will get checks while PASS reports 423 technicians will be paid, prompting criticism from lawmakers like Rep. Rick Larsen that many who worked through the shutdown were excluded even as Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford and President Trump publicly praised recipients.
