Lawrenceville, Georgia police say a 15-year-old boy, Christian Simmons, has been charged as an adult with murder after allegedly shooting 58-year-old Uber driver and father of two Cesar Tejada during a New Year’s Day carjacking and leaving him in the road to die in a suburban subdivision about 30 miles northeast of Atlanta. Investigators say Tejada picked up the suspect around 4:13 a.m., drove him to Groveland Parkway, where the teen exited the back seat, shot him, and fled in the vehicle, which was later traced using Flock camera technology and Uber trip data; Uber says it has permanently banned the rider account and is assisting the investigation.
