Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton opened an investigation into the U.S. Tennis Association Texas League and issued a Civil Investigative Demand seeking records on transgender participation in women’s events, examining potential violations of state law and the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. The USTA has sued to challenge the CID, while Paxton’s office says it is evaluating whether players were misled about competitors’ eligibility and whether consumer‑protection laws were breached.
