Wildlife officials and rehabilitators in Florida are investigating a cluster of dead seabirds found along Brevard County’s Space Coast beaches and at least a dozen dead swans at Orlando’s Lake Eola Park in recent days, sending carcasses for testing amid concern about a possible avian influenza outbreak. While no avian flu cases have yet been confirmed, the Florida Wildlife Hospital says samples from Brevard birds are at labs, Orlando officials are storing swan remains for necropsies, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is urging the public not to touch sick or dead birds.
