On Nov. 24, 2025, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mavel Ruiz scheduled an Aug. 3, 2026 trial in activist Marvin Dunn’s lawsuit alleging Miami Dade College violated Florida’s Sunshine Law when its board voted Sept. 23 to transfer a prime 3-acre Biscayne Boulevard parcel to the state, which plans to gift it to Donald Trump’s presidential library foundation. Ruiz previously granted a temporary injunction blocking the transfer and declined the college’s request to stay proceedings pending appeal, noting the schedule could change depending on the appellate court.
