In St. Paul, ICE agents were injured after Juan Carlos Rodrigues Romero, identified as a Cuban migrant who entered the U.S. in 2024 via the CBP One parole process, allegedly struck officers and rammed multiple ICE vehicles while resisting arrest. ICE says one agent fired two defensive rounds at Romero’s vehicle without hitting anyone; two officers and Romero were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Romero remains in ICE custody, and ICE noted CBP One parole protections for users were terminated in April.
