Rep. Elise Stefanik has consolidated more than 75% of New York GOP’s weighted convention vote for the 2026 governor’s race with endorsements from 58 county party chairs, alongside backing from 40 of 45 Conservative Party organizations, 14 Republican state senators (including Leader Rob Ortt), and 10 county executives, party officials and her campaign say. The show of support leaves rival Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman with little path through the convention, likely forcing a petition route that requires at least 15,000 Republican signatures under New York law.
