Alliance Defending Freedom filed its opening brief on Nov. 19, 2025 in Wailes v. Jefferson County Public Schools at the 10th Circuit, backing Colorado parents who challenge district policies that assign overnight accommodations by gender identity without parental notice or opt-out. The suit cites an incident on a 2023 school trip where an 11-year-old girl was assigned to share a hotel bed with a transgender-identifying male student and alleges violations of parental rights, free exercise, and student privacy.
