FBI Director Kash Patel announced that, following a June Trump executive order, the bureau has established a National Counter‑UAS Training Center at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, to train law-enforcement agencies to detect, track and mitigate unlawful drone activity under authorities in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act. Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino described unmanned aircraft as an immediate threat exploited by criminals, terrorists and hostile foreign actors, and said the facility will be central to security preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics, complementing a new FCC ban on certain foreign-made drones and components.
