Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce announced that 24‑year‑old Saleh Edwards of Wilkes‑Barre, Pennsylvania has been charged with criminal attempt to possess or manufacture weapons of mass destruction after a neighbor’s tip prompted a joint counterterrorism investigation by the DA’s office, Wilkes‑Barre City Police and the FBI. Agents executed a court‑authorized search at Edwards’ Saint Clair Street home on Sunday, after which he was arraigned, denied bail as a danger to the public, and ordered held in the county jail while key court records remain sealed under a 60‑day order ahead of a tentative Jan. 5 preliminary hearing.
