U.S. District Judge Fernando Olguin dismissed with prejudice a federal indictment against Los Angeles TikTok streamer Carlitos Ricardo Parias, ruling that his constitutional rights were violated when immigration authorities repeatedly blocked his criminal defense lawyers from accessing him in ICE detention ahead of trial. Parias, a Mexican citizen who documents police and immigration enforcement activity online, had been charged with assault on a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon and depredation of government property after allegedly ramming federal vehicles during an October immigration arrest; he remains in immigration detention in Adelanto while prosecutors say they are weighing an appeal.
