Security firm Trend Micro warns of a fast-growing SMS/iMessage phishing campaign impersonating major cloud services with ‘Cloud Storage Full’ or deletion alerts to steal payment and personal data. The firm reports a 531% month-over-month spike from September to October, with messages using recipients’ names and fake photo counts to drive victims to convincing fake dashboards that demand a $1.99 “upgrade” fee and harvest credit card or PayPal credentials.
