TRAFFIC’s latest 'Skin and Bones' report, released Tuesday, finds global authorities seized the equivalent of 573 tigers from 2020 through June 2025—about nine per month—and 3,808 tigers across 2,551 seizures since 2000, with activity accelerating and shifting toward whole animals. The report highlights hotspots in India, Bangladesh, Indonesia and along the Vietnam–Laos border, notes the U.S., Mexico, and the U.K. among non‑range countries with notable incidents, and documents differing demand patterns, including U.S. interest in live tigers for exotic pets.
