During a chaotic Senate hearing, Sen. Tim Sheehy joined Capitol Police in removing an anti‑Iran war protester, whom officers identified as Brian C. McGinnis of North Carolina, after police said he violently resisted ejection and tried to force his way back into the room. McGinnis — who in a video described himself as a Green Party U.S. Senate candidate — and three officers were treated for injuries, police say his arm got stuck in a door during the struggle, and he now faces three counts each of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest plus an unlawful‑demonstration charge.
