U.S. Customs and Border Protection says officers at three Texas ports of entry arrested three American citizens over the weekend who were wanted on serious charges involving children and other vulnerable people. At the JuarezâLincoln Bridge in Laredo on Saturday, officers pulled 64âyearâold Rito Bueno into secondary inspection and confirmed he was wanted in Bexar County for aggravated sexual assault of a child, then turned him over to the Webb County Jail. On Sunday, 22âyearâold Anthony Magana Mendoza was stopped at the Anzalduas International Bridge between Mission, Texas, and Reynosa, Mexico, and arrested on a warrant alleging assault or injury to a child, elderly or disabled person. That same day, officers at the Del Rio International Bridge detained 19âyearâold Jose Kaleb Juarez after learning he was wanted for continuous sexual abuse of a child. CBP Laredo Field Office Director Donald R. Kusser said the three arrests in quick succession underscore how border inspections help capture fugitives wanted for âheinous crimesâ against children and other vulnerable individuals.
